This project
involves exploring and the study of the composer's work, which in
this case is Dai Fujikura. Taking the instrument as the starting
point, this expands to include the orchestra.. We will be going
into his music in depth, especially the music he has written for
the orchestra. It was my privilege to have known the composer when
he was just beginning his career. This is important, because everything
becomes clearer when you have the “big picture”. This
CD was an opportunity for me to conduct Prague Modern, a young ensemble
which today is carrying on the tradition of the past while representing
a vibrant new school of composers. It has acquired a remarkable
homogeneity in its fast legato string playing as is also the case
for the winds with their intense staccato and articulation. |
